Changes to route U from 3 December 2016
Important changes will take place from the above date. These are designed to improve the attractiveness of the service for the majority of users. They include:
- Brand new single-deck buses with air-conditioning, free WiFi, USB power sockets and next-stop announcements
- The use of the Cambridgeshire Guided Busway between Cambridge Railway Station and Addenbrooke’s Hospital, instead of Hills Road
- A later journey from Cambridge Railway Station on Saturdays
Reliability has been identified as a key factor to encourage greater use of the service. The use of The Busway will help us continue to deliver this against a backdrop of increasing congestion, as well as reducing journey times to and from Addenbrooke’s Hospital, particularly during the peaks. Our brand new single-deck buses will take as little as 2.5 minutes to get between the railway station and Cambridge Biomedical Campus.
Please note that buses will no longer serve Addenbrooke’s Hospital Bus Station. Buses will serve the same stops as Busway route A (Dame Mary Archer Way by The Rosie, Addenbrooke’s Hospital Outpatients and Puddicombe Way).
